Afterglow is a six-part a cappella vocal ensemble with repertoire ranging from contemporary choral to Renaissance, as well as various arrangements from the popular realm. We hope you take the time to learn more about us, and will contact us with any questions regarding events or bookings.

  • July 6th, 2011 - Afterglow has been awarded the 1st place prize in the Small Vocal Ensemble category of the Association for Canadian Choral Communities' 2011 National Choral Competition! The prize comes with a reward of $1000.
  • June 13th, 2011 - Afterglow has been selected as a finalist in the Small Vocal Ensembles Category for the 2011 Association of Canadian Choral Communities National Competition for Canadian Amateur Choirs!
    Winners of the 2011 Competition will be announced on July 6th at the Festival 500 Sharing The Voices Opening Gala concert in St. John's and broadcast on CBC's Choral Concert on Sunday, July 10.

  • November 15, 2010 - Afterglow has just been named a Professional Project Grant recipient from the Newfoundland & Labrador Arts Council to be used for their involvement with Festival 500 in the upcoming year!
  • July 13, 2010 - Afterglow has been accepted to participate in Festival 500 Sharing the Voices in July 2011 as part of the Small Vocal Ensemble Program! This includes individual coaching sessions and masterclasses with Rajaton and Bob Chilcott all week long! Check out www.festival500.com
  • Afterglow presents Nightsong

    7:30pm at D.F. Cook Recital Hall, MUN School of Music

    Join us for a night of a cappella music ranging from classical to pop! You'll hear pieces by Hassler, Michael McGlynn and Soila Sariola as well as songs the group recently worked on with Rajaton at Festival 500. Also featuring songs by Queen and the Beatles as well as arrangements by Newfoundland's Jim Duff and our own members' arrangements of Coldplay, Adele, Imogen Heap and more!
    Tickets $15, available at Fred's Records or from group members.

  • Festival 500 Concerts in the Afternoon

    The sextet will be singing at 2:00pm at St. Andrew's Church (The Kirk) on Queen's Rd in St. John's. Also featuring small vocal ensembles Malagma from Argentina, and the Heartland Youth Choir from Iowa, USA.

    Afterglow will be performing three brand new arrangements at the Quintessential Vocal Ensemble's Song for Spring Concert! Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Cochrane Street United Church.   • Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador Annual Conference and Trade Show

    Afterglow performed at the Tourism Summit, the largest tourism convention in the province, Saturday Feb. 19th at the Delta Hotel.

    Afterglow will be singing several Disney classics at TaDa's production of The Princess and Pirates Tea Party at 2pm at the Delta in St. John's.
     
  • SMS Fundraising Gala

    Afterglow will be performing at an SMS fundraising gala at D.F. Cook Recital Hall at MUN School of Music at 8pm. The event is an initiative to endow a financial needs-based scholarship for music students and will feature local performers.
